We already said it a few weeks ago when Mercedes presented the VLEWe are looking at a vehicle that didn't just improve a large passenger van, but reinvented the entire segment. Now, approximately one month after that world premiere, The brand officially opens the sales period for the new Mercedes-Benz VLE in Spain And, the data that many of us were waiting for is made official: the prices.

The entry to the new electric van/minivan starts in 83.768 euros (VAT included)That's the price of the VLE 300 in its base configuration, with a 115 kWh battery, 203 kW motor, AIRMATIC air suspension, Sky View panoramic roof, rear-axle steering, and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control. We can therefore say that it is an entry-level price with very serious equipment, consistent with what Mercedes wants this VLE to be from the very beginning.

Three versions, three prices

During these first few months, the available range is limited to two specially configured launch editions, in addition to the base version. The pricing structure is as follows:

  • VLE 300: €83.768
  • VLE 300 Comfort Edition Launch: €97.192
  • VLE 300 Exclusive Edition Launch: €109.963

Both launch editions have six seats and come pre-configured with different equipment packages. The Comfort Edition includes the Advanced Plus package, which adds the EASY-PACK tailgate with independent rear window opening, rear-wheel steering, and ambient lighting, among other features. The Exclusive Edition takes it a step further with the Premium Plus package, which adds DIGITAL LIGHT headlights with projection function, MBUX Superscreen, Burmester 3D surround sound system, front seat massage function, ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL, active ventilation in the front seats, and KEYLESS-GO access, among many other features.

Knowing what this car is like inside, the jump of almost €13.000 from the base model to the Comfort Edition and another €12.700 to the Exclusive might seem excessive. But point by point, it has a fairly clear justification in terms of equipment. In any case, is the new VLE expensive? It depends on what you compare it to. And, frankly, there isn't much to compare it to. Let's remember that the VLE is built on the VAN.EA platform, designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, with an 800-volt architecture, up to 300 kW of DC fast charging power, and over 700 km of WLTP range in the combined cycle (892 km in the city). In other words: a super-luxury electric van capable of covering journeys of nearly 1,000 kilometers with a single stop of just 15 minutes. That, in a body of this size and with this level of digital and comfort features, was priceless until now because, quite simply, it didn't exist.

The full range, from September

These prices correspond only to the versions available at launch. Starting in September, Mercedes will expand the range with new models, packages, and options. The following will be the VLE 400 4MATICWith 305 kW, all-wheel drive, and a 115 kWh battery, the new model will also be available. Access will also be granted to the AMG Line, AMG Line Plus, and EXCLUSIVE trim levels, as well as the four optional packages and the full range of seating configurations, from five to eight seats. By 2027, a long-wheelbase version will arrive, 18 cm longer than the current model, along with an 80 kWh LFP battery variant that should allow for more moderate entry-level prices and attract a slightly different customer profile.
